The oldest fair in Europe, and the largest fair in France: Foire du Trône has returned to Pelouse de Reuilly in Paris for a period of several weeks. With over 250 attractions, catering establishment and diverse gambling stalls is Fiore du Trône the place to be for everyone. I have heard many positive stories about this fair and travelled to Pelouse de Reuilly for Foire du Trône! Is Foire du Trône worth a visit while you’re in Paris?
Please note: Foire du Trône 2025 has ended, the date for 2026 is not announced yet.
I recommend travelling to Foire du Trône by public using the metro. Metro station Liberté is located a few minutes’ from the entrance (I recommend using Google Maps to find the entrance to the fairground, as it is very large and has several side entrances). The website states that Foire du Trône opens at 12:00 noon, at this time mainly restaurants and gambling stalls start to open. The attractions open later, most of them start to open at 3 p.m.. I visited Foire du Trône on a weekday, on Saturday and Sunday the attractions might open at noon.
On Foire du Trône you will find attractions for young and old, as well as 7 roller coasters, including King, Jetstar and Tattoo. At the fair in the Netherlands, you will find many gambling stalls, merry-go-rounds and, if you are lucky, a Wacky Worm. So seeing these kinds of attractions and roller coasters at a fairground came as a pleasant surprise. The attractions at Foire du Trône were not the least, there was a swing boat with a cage (an attraction that had been on my bucket list for a while, it costs €2.00 extra to stand in the cage but’s definitely worth the money!), a Tagada and, to stay with swing boats, a swing boat that went completely upside down. Awesome! If you know me well, you know that I am a fan of topspin, and even a topspin is available here. Unfortunately, it was closed during my visit, otherwise I would definitely have taken a ride on it. And it wasn’t a small topspin, but a full-fledged topspin that could have been in an amusement park.

It is common knowledge that a fair is often not the cheapest day out and that you need a well-filled wallet, but that wasn’t the case here. The prices for most attractions were around €5.00 (a few attractions charged more for a ticket). and the ride cycles were anything but short. This may have had something to do with the fact that it was still quiet, but you won’t hear me complaining. For me, the attractions I visited were definitely worth the money. And where else can you find a Wacky Worm these days, which goes around four times with a smoke machine for €2.00? Right.. at Foire du Trône! A cred is a cred, and with slight embarrassment I purchased a ticket for the Wacky Worm. Fortunately for me, it was still quiet at that moment, otherwise passers-by would have looked at me strangely, a 30-year-old man who can’t stop laughing, riding alone in a Wacky Worm.
If you are visiting Paris and Foire du Trône is ongoing, it definitely is worth a visit! There is a positive atmosphere at the fairground, which makes for a pleasant and certainly not unsafe feeling while you’re visiting. With affordable attractions for young and old where everyone can enjoy themselves, for an hour or a whole day? The choice is yours! Need a break between attractions? No problem! There are several places where you can relax with a snack and a drink, and even here everything is well priced. And with its generous opening hours, a visit to Foire du Trône can easily be combined with another activity in Paris. Like visiting the Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triomphe.
‘What does Bart say about.. Foire du Trône 🎡’ is the second article on my trip to France. Keep an eye out on my website for articles about Mer de Sable and Parc Astérix!
For now, thank you for reading and see you next time!
