As any rollercoaster enthusiast will tell you, a top coasters list is never truly set in stone. Favorite rides are constantly shifting, evolving with every new park visited, every unexpected night ride, and every surprising layout experienced and mine are certainly no exception! Below, you will find my current top 10 coasters, along with a quick breakdown of my absolute top three: the rides that consistently set the benchmark for force, pacing, and sheer excitement.
While chasing credits and watching that personal count tick upward is always satisfying, I believe the heart of this hobby lies in keeping things fun, dynamic, and focused on exploration. That is why I have set a major personal challenge for myself. Rather than focusing solely on raw numbers, I am embarking on a dedicated quest to ride every single Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) coaster across Europe. B&M’s smooth engineering, massive scale, and iconic designs have defined some of the greatest moments in theme park history, and conquering their entire European lineup feels like the ultimate coaster trip.
Just below my top 10, you can track my live progress on this European B&M mission. It is a long-term goal that certainly won’t be completed overnight, but it gives me the ultimate excuse to travel to new destinations, discover hidden park gems, hunt for fresh credits, continuously shake up my top 10 rankings, and—most importantly—cross another legend off my bucket list!
🥇Voltron Nevera (Stryker coaster)! Europa-Park 🇩🇪 | MACK Rides | 2025
The reason why Voltron Nevera is at #1? Voltron Nevera caught my attention from the very moment Europa-Park announced it. A new type of coaster with unexpected elements and a 105-degree launch is not something you see every day. After my first few rides, I was still doubting it a bit, but after a front-row ride, everything clicked. After holding the top spot for years, Taron has officially been defeated by Voltron Nevera. If it can hold onto its number one position the way Taron did, it might just stay here for a very long time.
🥈Taron (LSM launch coaster)! Phantasialand 🇩🇪 | Intamin | > 2021
The reason why Taron is at #2? Taron is and always will be a great coaster. It features two launches that you can hear echo almost all the way through Phantasialand. In fact, I’d recognize that unique launch sound even in my dreams. With Taron, Intamin proved that you don’t need inversions to create a world-class rollercoaster. That said, Phantasialand definitely helped them out with an incredible themed area; without this level of theming, Taron would probably have ranked quite a bit lower.
🥉Toutatis (LSM launch coaster)! Parc Astérix 🇫🇷 | Intamin | 2025
The reason why Toutatis is at #3? Toutatis has everything a great coaster needs: multiple launches, inversions, a long layout, and a beautiful theme. It’s yet another Intamin LSM Launch Coaster that managed to make my top three. For me, Toutatis and Taron are incredibly close. However, because of the great memories and the lack of a proper back-row queue option on Toutatis, I ultimately chose to rank Taron just ahead of it. Toutatis is truly a back-row coaster; unfortunately, the ride falls a bit flat if you’re sitting in the front or the middle of the train.
For easy reference, each coaster on the list notes its park, manufacturer, and the year I first rode it.
